Yip Man
The last Grandmaster of all WingTsun Styles
In Wing Tsun Style, the late Yip Man was a great Grandmaster in the kung-fu world of his time.Grandmaster Yip, who has an unusual temperament and is confident, has paid little attention to the ordinary benefits of life, fame and fortune, does not have the rude and seductive attitude of kung-fu people. No bias was found regarding the man's date. He had the gift of leaving someone alone. His sincerity, warmth and hospitality were palpable in many ways. A true gentleman and an academic, he represented peace and purification. His speeches, in the accent of the Fatshan dialect, revealed his carefree and sincere character.
A Genteel Kung-fu Fan
The owner of a respectable family, the wealthy owner of a large farm and houses along the entire length of a street, he should have been a young nobleman leading a sheltered and protected life, never letting his hands get wet with hot water. yay. Nevertheless, to the surprise of everyone, he showed a special liking for the art of war. Thus, at the age of thirteen, he received training in kung-fu from Chan Wah Shun, the “Wah Chan Para Changer”, who was the favorite student of Grand Master Leung Jan of Fatshan town in Kwangtung Province.
Wah Chan the Para Changer was kind enough to let Grandmaster Yip's father Yip use the Ancestral Temple from their clan, as he had to rent special buildings to teach his followers because there was no permanent place for the gym. However, the high amount of monthly tuition applied to his students, usually as much as three silver wires per month, had few immediate consequences in his sports hall. Yip Man, the son of the property owner, was closely related to Wah. Attracted by Wah's kung-fu techniques, Yip Man eventually decided to pursue martial art. One day, to Wah's surprise, Yip Man brought three pieces of silver and asked Wah to accept him as a student. This aroused Wah's suspicion as to how the Yip Man got the money. On handling the matter of Yip's father, Wah found that Yip Man had taken the money by breaking his own savings bag to pay tuition fees. Inspired by Yip Man's enthusiastic and determined decision to learn kung-fu, Wah eventually accepted him as his disciple, but did not teach him with much enthusiasm, as he considered Yip Man to be a young gentleman, too sensitive for the martial art. Nevertheless, Yip Man strove to learn a lot with the help of his own intelligence and his elder kung-fu brothers. This removed Wah's prejudice against him, after which he began to adopt a serious attitude in teaching Yip Man the art of kung-fu.
In Wah's thirty-six years of teaching, he had taught all sixteen students, including his own son Chan Yu Min. Among these disciples of his, Yip Man was the youngest, who followed him and continued until his death. Dec. Yip Man was sixteen when his sixteenth master, the Money Changer, died of an illness. In the same year, he left Fatshan and completed his education at St. Stepen went to Hong Kong to continue at college.
A fucking blessing?
During the years that Yip Man attended school, an event happened that he will never forget - it was an experience of failure that ultimately turned out to be a blessing in a mystery. It was a defeat in a fight that resulted in him achieving the highest achievement in his kung-fu career.
As an active teenager, he got along well with a group of teenagers from school, who were all the same age and liked to argue with European schoolmates. Trained in the martial art, Yip Man scorned European opponents in battles, even though he was smaller. After a while, he admitted in his reminiscences that he was very proud of himself in those days.
A challenge for a fight
One day, Lai, a classmate of Yip Man told Yip Man, “There is a kung-fu practitioner in our trading company, in his fifties, who is a friend of my father. Would you dare to fight him with a few actions? ”Yip Man is a brash teenager who has never experienced failure, then he is not afraid of anyone, and because he promised to meet this middle-aged person. On the arranged day, Yip Man, led by his classmate, went to meet the old man at a silk company on Hong Kong's Jervois Street. After Yip Man greeted him, he told the old man his intentions. The man, who was introduced to Yip Adam as Mr. Leung, responded with a smile: “You are the disciple of Chan Wah Shun, the venerable Master of Fatshan. You're young. What did you learn from your Si-fu? Did he find out about Chum-Kiu? ”Yip Man later said that he wasn't listening to the person and was just too eager to have a fight because he had said a few irrelevant words. the suit is preparing itself for the fight.
The first defeat
At that moment, the old man told Yip Man that he was allowed to attack any part of his body in any way, and that he himself would only evict these attacks and not make any counterattacks, he would also harm Yip Man. in any way. This only added fuel to Yip Man's anger. Nevertheless, Yip Man managed to fight back with care and calmness. He launched violent attacks on the man, who discharged him easily and comfortably, and finally covered him up not only once, but repeatedly. Yip Man rose up again every time he lay flat on the ground, and finally made a new attack, finally he had to go.
Later, it was discovered that this old man was Mr. Leung Bik, the father-teacher (si-fu) of Chan Wah Shun Para Cahnger, the second son of Fatshan Grand Master Leung Jan, who taught Yip Adam. This is the younger kung-fu brother (si-dei), who is actually the old man's own paternal teacher (si-fu), one of the higher generations than Yip himself. According to kung-fu traditions, to search for him. Yip Man should have noticed this, except that he was too arrogant to notice it when he was being questioned by Leung Bik. After knowing the truth, a sudden thought flashed through Yip Man's mind - as he began to realize his own weaknesses in the art, this M to further his studies in the field of martial art. He could have followed Leung as well. This was a chance he would never allow. On the other hand, Leung Bik only started to realize the potential of this young man who had no experience and insufficient education. So Leung Bik promised to accept Yip Man as his disciple.
After that, Yip Man followed Leung Bik for years and learned all the secrets of Wing Tsun Kuen. Yip Man returned to his native town of Fatshan, having become proficient in his art, when he was twenty-four years old.
Fats back in
Yip Man returned to Fatshan to spend a rich life and got rid of all the burdens of life, as his family was wealthy. In those days, Yip Man spent a lot of time with kung-fu's second kung-fu brother (si-hing) Ng Chung So and Ng's student Yuen Kay Shan, and made constant progress in his skills. Yuen Kay Shan received the nickname “Yuen the Five” because he was the fifth son of his family. So all the clans of Fatshan called him by his nickname, and his real name was gradually forgotten. Although the fifth Yuen was slightly older than Yip Man, he was his nephew (si-juk) in Chinese kung-fu terminology, since Yip Man is an older generation, that is, Yip Man has been learning kung-fu for longer. But because they were so closely related, they forgot about the generation gap and became good friends.
In the days when he returned to Fatshan, Yip Man began to notice something very interesting to him, but in a disturbing way in another way. He found himself more advanced in his own abilities than the older kung-fu brokers. This prompted complaints from the elder kung-fu brothers that he had learned something that had not been taught by master Chan Wah Shun. For this reason, he was accused of being a defender of the Wing Tsun System, especially by those who were defeated by him. This resulted in many arguments between Yip Man and his Decrepit kung-fu brothers. Fortunately, Ng Chung successfully explained this situation to other people. He revealed that although his master Chan Wah Shun was very talented in art, he had not become a scholar, so he was not experienced in the art of expressing his students' opinions. This, of course, meant that much of Wing Tsun Kung-fu theory could not be explained correctly. As the son of a grandfather-teacher, Leung Bik was a learned scholar as well as being a very talented kung-fu practitioner. Therefore, he could have given Yip Man a clear explanation of Wing Tsun Kung-fu theory. That's where the difference between Yip Man and his Decrepit kung-fu brothers lay.As a result, Yip Man was known for his abilities after returning to Fatshan.
Fingers that stole a pistol chambermaid
Yip Man showed little interest in fame and fortune, never showed himself before others, and made little or no mention of his heroic actions in his youth. Nevertheless, there were one or two incidents worth mentioning. These have been retold by some eye-witness, but with inevitable exaggeration. The fact that the people of Fatiha had a floating parade once a year was attended by all the rich merchants, industrialists and the elite people of that city. They have formed teams of hundreds to show themselves for publicity. The festival was usually attended not only by local residents, but also spectators from many neighboring towns. On the day of the festival, the audience passed through the streets to the places where the floats would pass.It was very difficult for the demonstrator to find a place where he could have a good view.
